Anniversary Wish Wins Feature at Del Mar

Anniversary Wish, a daughter of Beau’s Eagle, beat favored Singing Pirate after a prolonged battle to win the $47,350 Fleet Treat Stakes Friday before 12,901 fans at Del Mar.

Under the urging of jockey Fernando Toro, Anniversary Wish drew out slowly in the final sixteenth to finish 1 1/2 lengths ahead in 1:22 4/5 for seven furlongs.

Anniversary Wish paid $8.60 and $3.60. Singing Pirate paid $3. Because there were only four starters, there was no show wagering.

Eddie Delahoussaye rode three winners. He took the second race on Campanello at $6.40, the third on Almost Possible at $10.80 and the sixth on Teeter Totter for a $16 payoff.

There was a single ticket with all six winners in the Pick Six, and it paid $238,381.
