Schwartz Will Manage U.S. Team
Speedway motorcyclist Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa has been named co-manager of the American squad that will compete in the World Team Cup Sept. 10 at Long Beach Veterans Stadium.
Schwartz, 32, will manage the five-man team along with John Scott, who has guided American riders in world championship races in Europe for the past 10 years.
Schwartz was noticeably absent when the U.S. team selections were announced this week. He is a veteran of seven World Team Cup events and helped the U.S. team win its only title in 1982.
