Prof. Greg Steinke will resign Wednesday as chairman of the San Diego State University Music Department. A composer and oboist, Steinke will take the post of assistant director of the School of Music at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Steinke was appointed to head the SDSU Music Department in 1986. Prof. Martin Chambers, head of the SDSU Opera Workshop, will serve as acting chairman of the department.
