Japanese Boys Win Soccer Tournament

TOKYO — Wataru Ito scored two goals in the second half as the Japan defeated a South Korean team from Pusan, 2-0, Sunday to win the International Soccer Tournament.
South Korea was second in the eight-team tournament for boys aged 12 and under at Tokyo’s Nishigaoka Stadium.
The Australian team from Melbourne beat a Chinese team from Nanjing, 1-0, when Danny Madaroski scored in the second five-minute overtime period. Australia finished third and China was fourth.
The U.S. team from San Diego finished fifth after beating the Brazilian team from Rio de Janeiro, 1-0, on a goal by Damon Bradshaw. Brazil was sixth.
Singapore edged the Belgian team from Ghent, 3-2, and finished seventh. Belgium was eighth.
