Japan Airlines has asked the Mexican government to allow direct Tokyo-to-Tijuana flights. Alfonso Bustamante Jr., president of the Tijuana Tourism and Convention Bureau, urged the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau to support the proposal. “Our airport has the customs and immigration posts in place that San Diego’s airport doesn’t have,” he said.
