Police stopped a car for running a stop sign early Monday morning, then arrested the driver on suspicion of murder when they found a body wrapped in plastic trash bags lying in the trunk.
Police stopped the car about 1 a.m. near Woodman Street and Alta View Drive in Paradise Hills, police spokesman Bill Robinson said.
While talking outside the car with the driver, 24-year-old Armando Munoz of Mexico, police smelled a foul odor coming from the trunk, Robinson said.
The trunk was opened and the body of an adult Latino male was found inside, wrapped in plastic trash bags.
A deputy in the county coroner’s office said the cause of the man’s death was unknown, pending an autopsy today.
