Exercised Over Debra Winger

So Debra Winger isn’t your typical game-playing Hollywood actress (“Hollywood and the Exercise of Power,” by Paul Rosenfield, Aug. 28)?

Well, what would you call an actress (who has the power to say no) who endorses an article that is bitter, self-congratulatory and very much at the expense of her industry peers? Enlightened? Above the fray? Hardly.

Just another premeditated “star article” about someone insecure to the point where she has to make a list of all the roles that she turned down.

And Meryl Streep as her only competition? That’s news to me and probably 90% of the educated movie-going public.
