5-Day Camp, 10 Exhibitions for Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings will conduct a five-day training camp in Flint, followed by a 10-game exhibition season, the National Hockey League team said.

Sixty-one players were scheduled to report Saturday to training camp, with the last practice session slated for Sept. 15 at IMA Arena, the Red Wings said. All practices and intrasquad games will be open to the public.

Detroit, the NHL Norris Division champions for two consecutive seasons, opens its exhibition season on Sept. 16 against St. Louis at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. Other home exhibition games will be played Sept. 19 against Toronto and Sept. 21 against Buffalo, with tickets priced at $9 and $16, the Red Wings said.

Detroit begins its 63rd NHL season on Oct. 6 at Los Angeles, followed by games at Vancouver and Calgary. The Red Wings will host St. Louis on Oct. 14 in their home opener.
