Objects to Hunting

Share

I am astonished and sickened that there are still those in this supposedly civilized world who choose to spend their vacations on the barbaric “sport” of trophy hunting. In Jim Leveque’s article, “Allure of the Alaska Steelhead and Other Wildlife” (Aug. 28), it is indicated there are indeed people who pay money to visit “wildlife preserves” and lodges where they can be assured a chance to hunt down gentle animals and brutally kill them for nothing more than a wall ornament.

The article claims that many hunters return to these lodges because they feel they “must have one of everything on their walls.” I sincerely hope that I was not the only one who read this article and felt disgusted and saddened and ashamed to be a member of the human race.
