Two men knocked on the door of an Aegean Hills home early Wednesday and when the resident answered, they forced their way in, robbed him, hit him over the head with a gun and fled in his two cars, police said.

The men burst into the home of Azar Massoud, 60, in the 24000 block of Acropolis Drive about 1:55 a.m. and took radios, stereos, a rifle and a shotgun, along with Massoud’s Toyota MR2 and 1972 Cadillac, Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Lt. Richard J. Olson said.

The robbers left a white Pontiac Fiero at the scene. Police learned that the car had been stolen in East Los Angeles and that the suspects were considered armed and dangerous, Olson said.

Massoud’s Toyota was seen by La Habra police about 2:40 a.m. heading west on the Riverside Freeway. They chased the driver to Compton, where he was arrested without incident, Olson said.

Taken into custody was Byron Andre Jones, 26, of Los Angeles, an unemployed hair stylist. He was booked into the County Jail in Santa Ana on suspicion of armed robbery, automobile theft, assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed weapon. Bail was set at $50,000.

The second suspect, who remained at large Wednesday, was last seen driving Massoud’s light brown, 1972, four-door Cadillac, with California license plates 2FEY 801.
