Jet With Failed Engine Returns Safely to Airport

CHARLOTTE, N. C. —
A Piedmont Airlines jet lost power in an engine Wednesday 10 minutes into a flight to Washington but returned safely to Douglas International Airport, an airline spokesman said. None of the 129 passengers and seven crew members aboard the Boeing 727-200 jet were injured, the spokesman said.
