Swimming actress Esther Williams--who starred in 26 aquatically-themed films for MGM in the 1940s and ‘50s--is creating a line of bathing suits for a Los Angeles swimwear company. “Buying a bathing suit is a difficult moment for women, so I decided it was time to put my expertise to work to try to eliminate the pain,” said Williams, whose films were known for lavish swimming and underwater ballet sequences. She will design 96 styles for the Esther Williams Collection, to being manufactured by Misty Swimwear.
