Alla T. Hall has been officially named director of the still unopened Armand Hammer Museum of Art and Cultural Center, announced Hammer, chairman and chief executive of Occidental Petroleum Corp. Hall holds two doctoral degrees--one in art history from USC and one in languages and literature from Charles University in Prague. Beginning in 1965, Hall worked at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art as a docent council lecturer and as chair of the docent council, and later as a research specialist responsible for bibliographic, archival and historical research on European art from the 15th through the 19th centuries. Hall entered Hammer’s employ in January. The museum, scheduled to open in the spring of 1990, will adjoin Occidental’s headquarters in Westwood.
