Ugliness in Vista

I moved to this pleasant development of one-family homes 1 year ago. In early June, I put a Jesse Jackson poster in my window. The Homeowners’ Environmental Committee informed me that the poster violated their CC&Rs.; My son, an attorney, informed them that they were attempting to abridge my freedom of speech and that the poster would remain.

After dark on July 1, my house was bombarded with tomatoes and my driveway written on. On three more occasions, eggs and fruit were thrown at the window and walls, and twice in the last three weeks someone has thrown limes through a glass window, taking the poster with it as shards of glass were strewn all over.

These terrorist attacks are very frightening, and I wonder to what extremes these crazy racists will go. However, I will not remove the poster, and I will not give up my civil rights.
