A single-engine plane crash-landed in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park after its pilot reportedly buzzed San Quentin Prison, where he dropped what officials said were tracts critical of the Reagan Administration. Police said Alan Dale, 40, also flew low over the Haight-Ashbury District. Dale was arrested shortly after he brought the plane down in the park and ran into a nearby residential neighborhood. Police Officer Barry Cooper said he was carrying a backpack filled with political “material about wanting to get Reagan, Meese and Bush.” The red and white plane, stolen earlier at Palo Alto Municipal Airport, was painted with the name “Nasty Nancy” and anti-Reagan Administration slogans. Dale was booked on suspicion of stealing the plane.
