The State - News from Sept. 29, 1988
A Clovis man who held a plastic toy pistol to the head of a Fresno television sportscaster during a newscast and forced him to read a religious statement has pleaded guilty to a charge of false imprisonment. David Pretzer, 21, walked onto the KJEO news set last Dec. 4 and held the realistic toy weapon on Marc Cotta. The sportscaster was about 30 seconds into the statement when an engineer cut to a commercial. Station employees called police, who arrested Pretzer. It was not until then that it was discovered the gun was a toy. He is to be sentenced in Fresno Superior Court on Oct. 25.
