2 Missing Hikers Found OK in National Forest
Deputies from Los Angeles County sheriff’s rescue teams found two hikers Sunday who had been lost overnight in the Angeles National Forest.
A friend reported Raymond Lerma, 35, of Bell Gardens, and his godson, Salvador Lozano, 14, missing 7 1/2 hours after they failed to show up for a noon Saturday rendezvous at the end of California 39.
Sgt. Daniel Pohl said rescuers found the pair about 6:50 a.m. Sunday in good condition four miles southwest of road’s end.
“They apparently just got lost,” Pohl said.
