Tony Bin of Italy charged from the pack in the home stretch to win the 67th running of Europe’s richest horse race, the $1.3-million Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
Jockey Johnny Reid urged Tony Bin into the lead from fifth place at the turn of the 1 1/2-mile firm turf course at Longchamp, then held off a late charge to win by a head over the favorite, Mtoto of Britain, with Michael Roberts up.
One length back was Boyatino of France, beating Unfuwain by a neck for third in a field of 24.
