The University of Cincinnati has admitted violating National Collegiate Athletic Assn. rules on recruiting, financial aid and athletic scholarships.
University President Joseph A. Steger announced the findings and said the university won’t appeal. He expects the NCAA to impose a penalty in about 3 weeks.
The violations ranged from providing athletes with improper financial aid to giving basketball recruits free lodging in a university dormitory. Steger said the university didn’t purposely violate the regulations, which he hopes the NCAA will take into account when determining punishment.
