The SEC sued Unioil Inc., a former Glendale-based oil company, for fraud in its promotion of a pill that is supposed to make people sober. The SEC’s Los Angeles office said the bankrupt Unioil, which now operates from Evans, Colo., and has about 16 operating oil wells, failed to disclosed important facts about the so-called sober pill in news releases and sales pitches to brokers. William L. Mulderig, president and chairman, who is named in the complaint, said Unioil will emerge from bankruptcy shortly and plans to market the pill. He said he will fight the SEC suit.
