If you missed last night’s for-women-only production of “Six Women With Brain Death,” you missed one of the most unusual concession items ever to grace a San Diego theater intermission: condom earrings.

LeeAnn Hoshaw was pregnant with her first child when she came up with the idea of converting unopened packages of condoms into wearable earrings by camouflaging them with acrylics and puffy paints.

“For a while my big belly was my best advertising ploy,” Hoshaw said. Since she gave birth to daughter Hillary on Sept. 27, the self-described proud mama hopes to make more of her sales by phone.
