Former NFL running back Chuck Muncie has been charged in a criminal complaint with possession of cocaine for distribution in San Diego.

Muncie, 35, was arraigned Friday before U.S. Magistrate Roger McKee, who scheduled an Oct. 27 preliminary hearing. Muncie was allowed to remain free on $20,000 personal signature bond.

The charge against Muncie stems from his alleged drug sale to two undercover drug agents at a Mission Valley hotel on Dec. 3, 1987. In a government affidavit, it is alleged that Muncie sold the agents about 2 ounces of cocaine for $2,600.
