A Greek appeals court ruled that Mohammed Rashid should be extradited to the United States to stand trial for a 1982 bomb blast aboard a Pan Am jetliner. The court, on a 2-1 vote, accepted five of nine charges made by the U.S. government against Rashid, a member of the Palestine Liberation Organization who was arrested at the Athens airport May 29. All five charges focused on the explosion aboard the Pan Am plane over Hawaii that killed a Japanese teen-ager and injured 15 other people. Defense lawyers said they will appeal the decision to Greece’s Supreme Court.
