Cunningham Passes for 369 Yards in Eagles’ 24-13 Win Over the Giants
Randall Cunningham passed for a career-high 369 yards and 3 touchdowns Monday night to lead Philadelphia to a 24-13 victory over New York, the Eagles’ first victory over the Giants in almost 4 years.
With Philadelphia ahead 17-13, New York was driving toward a go-ahead touchdown on fourth and 10 from the Eagles 18-yard line, when Mark Bavaro dropped a 13-yard pass from Phil Simms. Three plays later, Cunningham connected on an 80-yard pass to Cris Carter to seal the victory.
Both teams are 3-3, 1 game behind Phoenix in the NFC East. Cunningham completed a career-high 31 of 41 passes.
Raul Allegre put the Giants ahead 3-0 in the first quarter on a 47-yard field goal. The Eagles went ahead 7-3 in the second quarter on a 4-yard touchdown pass to Jimmy Giles, and took a 14-3 lead at the half on a 5-yard pass to Keith Byers. New York scored on a 22-yard kick by Allegre, and a 38-yard pass by Simms to Zeke Mowatt.
