2 Workers Dangle 45 Minutes
Associated Press
NEW YORK —
Two construction workers, left dangling for 45 minutes 140 feet above a Manhattan street when their scaffolding collapsed, were rescued unharmed today.
The men were working on a building at the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center when a motor on the scaffold gave out, dumping both men from the platform on the 15th floor and leaving them suspended from safety ropes attached to the top of the building. Firefighters, using a ladder, were able to rescue the workers.
