S. Pasadena Teachers Walk Out

Share

Most of South Pasadena’s 158 public school teachers staged a one-day walkout today, charging that they are near the bottom in pay among Los Angeles County teachers while staffing one of the county’s most successful school systems.

The South Pasadena Unified School District’s five schools were kept open with the help of substitute teachers, but there were widespread absences among the district’s 3,500 students. The Teachers Assn. of South Pasadena is seeking a binding arbitration clause in its contract.
