Daihatsu Motor Co., an affiliate of Japan’s top auto maker Toyota Motor Corp., said it will exhibit its newly developed four-wheel-drive sporty car Feroza at the British International Motor Show opening in Birmingham on Oct. 30.

The Osaka-based company said the new model, powered by a 1,600 cubic centimeter gasoline engine, will be exported to Britain and other member nations of the European Common Market starting in November.

The company, maker of the Charade subcompact car, said it hopes to sell 4,000 Ferozas per month.

No domestic sales are planned at present, company officials said.

Feroza combines the English word ferocious and the female name of rose, the officials said.
