Cruelty Charged in Seizure of Overcrowded Partridges

NEW YORK —
Agents acting on an anonymous telephone tip seized 1,750 wild partridges that had been crammed into plastic crates and left in a truck without food or water, authorities said. Daniel MacMaster, a game-bird farmer from Alfred, Me., was charged Tuesday with cruelty to animals.
