Major colleges would be able to add a 12th regular-season football game to their schedules under a proposal approved this week by the Division I-A Directors Assn.

Most of the 94 athletic directors who attended the association’s annual fall meeting in Kansas City, Mo., voted to support the proposal, which will be presented at the National Collegiate Athletic Assn. convention in San Francisco in January.
