McDonnell Douglas Corp.’s third-quarter profit rose 4% from last year to $83.5 million. Revenue totaled $3.72 billion, up 15%. The St. Louis-based aerospace and aircraft firm credited the results largely to stronger performances in two areas: transport aircraft, where there was growth in the C-17 program and increased deliveries of its MD-80 and DC-10/KC-10 models, and space systems and missiles.
