WESTSIDE CRUDE

Share

Regarding “Westside Crude” (by Bill Boyarsky, Sept. 25): I had to laugh in disgust when I read the pro-driller’s sanctimonious preaching about racial equality and the sharing of responsibility for resources. Obviously, drilling in areas with less sophisticated political organization is merely an example of greed following the path of least resistance. To turn around and exploit those victories to tear up our coastline and our fragile social fabric is repulsive. If teaming up with affluent Westsiders--who may or may not also be concerned about L.A.’s inner city problems--is what it takes to save our coastline, then that’s a compromise I can not only live with but go out and fight for.
