The Dallas Mavericks waived second-year guard Jim Farmer and placed fourth-year forward Detlef Schrempf on the injured list, reaching the NBA roster limit of 12 players. The departure of Farmer meant the Mavericks will keep Morlon Wiley, a 6-foot 4-inch guard from Cal State Long Beach.
