Louie Espinoza, former junior featherweight champion of the World Boxing Assn., said that he accidentally shot himself in the foot in a hunting accident last month but doesn’t consider the injury career-threatening.
Espinoza, 27, said he suffered the injury Oct. 1, while hunting in Aravaipa Canyon in southeastern Arizona, near Safford. He broke four small bones in his foot and spent 2 weeks in the hospital.
