Former sports agent Dave Lueddeke pleaded guilty in Chicago to federal charges of obstruction of justice and perjury in an investigation of illegal dealings with athletes before their college eligibility expired.
Prosecutors said Lueddeke, 37, of Los Angeles, lied to a grand jury when he testified in July 1987 about a $5,000 “loan” to Ohio State’s Chris Carter in 1986.
Sentencing was set for Jan. 6. Lueddeke could face up to 10 years in prison and $500,000 in fines.
