TORONTO — At every stop on this trip, King star Wayne Gretzky has helped the local team draw its biggest crowd of the season.
Tickets for tonight’s sold-out game between the Maple Leafs and the Kings, according to the Toronto Star, were being sold by scalpers at $300 a pair for the best seats.
The Maple Leafs (8-5-1) lead the National Hockey League’s Norris Division but are coming off a 7-2 loss to the Boston Bruins. The Kings are 7-6 overall and 2-2 on this trip, with 2 games to go.
Center Bernie Nicholls, who missed practice Thursday, was on the ice Friday. Center Hubie McDonough was sent down to the New Haven, Conn., farm team.
