Speaking Out on Orange County Elections : Campaign Mailer on Pollution of Harbor
I received a mailer entitled “Feces On The Bay” in which I was asked to remember Matlock, Watt, Ryckoff, candidates for the Newport Beach City Council.
I will indeed remember them but perhaps not in the way they intended. I have long suspected their motives and their tactics and this latest mailing confirms that the three of them and their advisers have themselves sunk to an incredible low level in what I consider to be a display of a tasteless lack of class and decency.
Many of the statements that they make are either untrue or exaggerated and it may be too close to the election for their opponents to effectively challenge them. This is also unfair tactics.
I am no longer undecided. I am giving my vote to their opposition.
