Actors Robert Blake, Kris Kristofferson, Deborah Farentino and Valerie Wildman as well as director-cinematographer Haskell Wexler are supporting an ongoing airlift of medical and other emergency supplies to hurricane-ravaged Nicaragua. The first $750,000 shipment was shipped this weekend, with the entertainers in attendance. Wexler--who made “Latino,” a film highly critical of American policy in the region--and Wildman, who starred in the movie “Salvador,” accompanied the shipment to Managua. According to airlift organizers, the supplies will be distributed by a coalition of Nicaraguan churches.
