Simi-Moorpark Area House Prices Rise 7%

The average price of a single-family house in the Simi Valley-Moorpark area increased 7% to $204,193 compared to $190,250 in August, according to the Simi Valley-Moorpark Board of Realtors.
But the number of single-family houses sold in September fell 14% to 191 compared to 221 in August. “Houses are not selling like hot cakes like they were during the summer,” board President Irene Allen said.
The average price of a condominium in September was $119,557, up 2% from $116,969 in August. Sales of condominiums increased 15% to 68 units in September from 59 units in August. The board’s statistics do not include most new residences or those sold by their owners.
