LAS VEGAS — Donna Adamek of Victorville, Calif., won her first title in 5 years Saturday, defeating top-seeded Robin Romeo of Van Nuys, 211-177, to win the $30,000 first prize in the $125,000 Ladies Pro Bowlers Tour Sam’s Town National Pro-Am.
Adamek, who had not won a title since 1983, rolled 4 strikes in the first 6 frames while Romeo opened in 3 of her first 5 frames.
“I was never comfortable,” said Romeo, who earned $15,000. “I knew I had to bowl a good game against Donna but after I started so badly, I couldn’t get myself fired up.”
