A longtime University of Kentucky administrative official who is considered to be a close ally of David Roselle, the university president, will be named interim athletic director, a newspaper reported.
Roselle could name lawyer Joe Burch to replace Athletic Director Cliff Hagan as early as next week, the Courier-Journal reported.
Burch, a UK official for 22 years, is one of the school’s investigators in an ongoing joint inquiry with the National Collegiate Athletic Assn. into allegations of wrongdoing in Kentucky’s basketball program.
