Golf Roundup : Gilder Leads by One in Hawaii
Bob Gilder birdied the 18th hole Friday to take a 1-stroke lead in the third round of the $600,000 Kapalua International golf tournament at Kapalua, Hawaii.
Gilder, after a hard-earned 71 in strong, gusty winds on the Kapalua Bay course, was at 16-under-par 200 for 54 holes.
Corey Pavin shot a third consecutive 67 and was at 201.
Lee Elder battled swirling winds and fast greens for a 4-under-par 67 and a 1-shot lead over South African Harold Henning in the first round of the $300,000 PGA Seniors Tour event at Key Biscayne Golf Course in Key Biscayne, Fla.
