Other Sanders Tops 1,000 Yards

Barry Sanders’ brother, Byron Sanders, a 5-foot 9-inch, 195-pound senior running back at Northwestern, went over the 1,000-yard mark for the season in the Wildcats’ 14-9 loss to Illinois Saturday at Champaign, Ill.

Sanders gained 124 yards in 33 carries to increase his season total to 1,062 yards in 264 carries. It was his fifth straight 100-yard game and seventh of the season, which ties the Northwestern record held by Mike Adamle.
