Ashton-Tate Corp. said it will move its word processing and graphics products centers from East Hartford, Conn. to its Los Gatos, Calif., complex, affecting 185 jobs. Some employees will be layed off, the company said, but the precise figure will depend upon the number of employees accepting an offer to relocate. Separately, Ashton-Tate said it filed suit in federal court in Los Angeles against Fox Software Inc. and Santa Cruz Operation Inc., alleging that Fox’s FoxBase infringes upon Ashton-Tate’s dBase software copyrights.
