Act III Theatres has agreed to acquire Eastgate Theatres, doing business as Luxury Theatres of Portland, Ore., for an undisclosed amount. Luxury Theatres owns 293 screens in 87 complexes in California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Idaho and Nevada. Act III said the purchase will make it the ninth-largest theater circuit in the United States, with 403 screens in 104 locations in seven states. San Antonio based Act III Theatres is a subsidiary of Act III Communications of Los Angeles, a diversified entertainment and communications firm.
