A Rancho Santiago College program aimed at helping high school dropouts complete work for a high school diploma has won a National Education Assn. award.

The NEA gave an “A-Plus Award for Excellence in Education” to Rancho Santiago’s High School Subjects Diploma Program. The program provides high school-level classes in various subjects. Classes can be taken any time from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays, affording working people a variety of hours to attend, college officials said.

The NEA praised the Rancho Santiago program for “innovation in design and delivery” and for “high standards for teacher preparation.”
