Woman Strangled at Mall
Police are searching for clues leading to the killer of a 26-year-old Downey resident whose body was found in the back of her brown Chevrolet pickup truck at the Stonewood shopping center in Downey.
The body of Carla Suzanne Neely was discovered at 1:15 p.m. Nov. 15 by her in-laws after a co-worker notified her mother-in-law that Neely did not show up for work that day.
Downey police Capt. Robert Williams said the woman was strangled about 9 p.m. the night before. Neely apparently had gone shopping at the mall and was attacked at her truck, he said. Neely’s death marks the sixth in Downey this year.
Neely is survived by her husband, Mark, and two children. Police are asking that anyone with information regarding the death call 904-2330 or 861-0771.
