Rams Planning to Activate Collins

Ram Coach John Robinson said Wednesday that he plans to activate linebacker Jim Collins for Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos. Collins, an 8-year veteran, has been on injured reserve all season after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery Aug. 12.

Collins has been practicing in full uniform for a month and said his knee feels strong.

“I feel as quick and fast as I ever was,” Collins said Wednesday. “It’s just a matter of keeping myself healthy. I’ve felt good ever since I’ve come back and started practicing.”

Collins’ playing time Sunday will depend on the condition of starter Mark Jerue, who has been bothered by a knee problem of his own. Jerue was listed as questionable Wednesday.
