Coyotes and Pets

In an article about coyote trapping (Oct. 16) and in a letter to the editor (Oct. 28) two citizens state that they have lost many pets to coyotes. Are these people in the business of raising coyote food? How can anyone who claims to love animals adopt pets, knowing that they will eventually die a horrible death if they are not kept indoors? The people who live in coyote areas know the score. They are doing a small pet no favor by adopting it.
