VIENNA — A cocaine overdose killed a young princess whose husband, a great-grandson of Germany’s last emperor, subsequently killed himself in shock and grief, police said today.
Isabelle of Hanover, 26, was found dead Monday by her husband, Prince Ludwig Rudolf, in the bedroom of their villa at the lakeside resort of Gmunden. Police sources said today a preliminary autopsy showed the Austrian-born princess died of heart failure and lung edema after consuming cocaine.
