It’s Not Kid Stuff Department: On Dec. 14, Christie’s East in New York will auction a variety of character merchandise, carrousel animals and toys, including a Buster Brown camera, a Flash Gordon ray gun and a Harold Teen ukulele. Prices are steep: A black and white Mickey Mouse marionette by Tony Sarg has an estimated presale price of $700 to $900, while a stuffed Donald Duck by Krueger is expected to bring $200 to $300; a Popeye Express airport toy, $500 to $700, and a Charlie McCarthy radio, $400 to $600. Billed as one of the most unusual items in the sale, a 3-foot-tall store display figure of “Jazzbo Jim” is expected to sell for between $2,500 and $3,500.
